Waikato International News - Orientation week

As you know, A Semester started yesterday (March 2) and 'O-Week'
(Orientation Week) is in full swing. This week is full of entertainment
and fun but also helps new international students settling in their new
environment and gives them an opportunity to make friends.

This semester's orientation was extremely well attended and filled our
largest lecture theatre to its capacity. Please have a look at the photos

Upcoming events for international students

There are several events coming up for our international students such as
a beach trip to the beautiful East Coast on March 7, a trip to a real a
Kiwi farm, BBQ on campus on May 27 and more.

Internet access cost drops by more than 50%

As part of our commitment to enhancing our teaching and learning
experience, we have reviewed the cost to students for off-site internet
traffic.

Previously, external internet use (accessing sites that are not hosted
within the University’s network) was charged at 3.5c/Mb + GST. From Monday
2 March, this will be reduced to 1.5c/Mb + GST which is considerably less.
